SAFETY IS NOT LUXURY
Public Street Harassment is an ongoing issue that many people face once they leave their homes. It happens everywhere and anywhere. Whether you're walking to the shop, catching public transport or even going to school. We’re taught to expect street harassment, because everyone experiences it. We are made to believe that it is a normal part of our day to day lives, but it is not, and it needs to stop…
Public Street Harassment is now illegal in France, Belgium and Portugal. It has not yet been passed in the UK. I have designed a campaign in response to this that focuses on the language that women encounter once stepping outside their front doors.
I collected language from different sources that are attached to women. These were then collaged, distorted and used in a projection shoot.
